When someone feels guilty it will haunt him or her forever. Although whatever happened cannot be taken back, the guilt will still always remain. On One Tree Hill, one of the main characters Dan Scott, kills his very own brother. In the moment, Dan felt it was the right thing to do; however, one second later Dan is speechless. He then walked with a blank look on his face. As the days passed, the guilt rose so bad that Dan would hallucinate images of his little brother running around whispering, “danny boy, danny, danny….you killed me.” There came a point when Dan had nightmares and pictured the words murderer and you killed me all over. After being so caught up, Dan just wanted to be put away, for when his son punched another guy out and practically killed him, Dan took the blame. Then again Dan still seemed like a hero for taking a blame, but deep down this guilt was haunting and taunting with his mind. Guilt is usually followed up lie after lie, after lie. Guilt doesn’t just happen in TV shows for people live with guilt every day.
Mothers also always tend to feel guilty, for you don't always have to commit a crime to experience this feeling. In fact, I know what its like to feel guilty. I don’t remember what I did; however, I do remember how I felt. It wasn't easy to deal with, for i didn't even do anything bad. I recall not being able to concentrate for the next couple of days until the problem was resolved. Though there times where guilt can teach you a lesson and have a positive effect on you, such as, knowing what makes you feel guilty. The more guilt a person contains, the worse the effects are. Just like in MacBeth, Lady MacBeth starts to sleep walk. The doctors see her frequently rubbing her hands, while she is saying out loud for spots to come off. This refers to the guilt she feels about convincing her husband to kill Duncan and Banquo. The doctor and the gentlewoman had watched her sleep for a few days. Not only is this haunting Lady MacBeth, but the doctors and gentlewoman now had an idea in their mind bout the murder. This feeling wont leave Lady MacBeth any time soon, until her death and is now the reason for her and her husbands secret to be revealed.
